I see when you search in Google for a celebrity, you get a little "Info" view to the right pulled from wikipedia. It contains a small list of movies/tv series the celeb has acted in (provided they're an actor) and a "People to also search for", people they've associated with/acted or worked with etc
I think that's a next step in the evolution of this API. Facets for Celebrities that contains associated celebs / a list of movies or available dvd's (that is linked to the product line maybe already) and a basic "stats" list of the celeb.
This way you can emulate a sort-of IMDB but with associate products to the celeb, and the DVD/Movie collection would exponentially increase once Amazon data is taken up by Prosperent as well...
What do you guys think?

+1 for this.
Though it may be a little out of track, since you guys will provide content for us (not products data), but It will be great start for developer to build section / pages around celebrities. Definitely will make sites build around API richer.
This also can be expanded into basic info about brands or merchants, but I think celebrities have more relevance on it. In the end, it’s all about user experience when entering our sites. Celebrities data will boost user experience, providing the info they need, IMO
. +1 to have it on prosperent API.

It's definitely a possibility that we can look at in the future. In the mean time, it wouldn't be difficult to grab that same data from sites like IMDB and Google on your own if you wanted to get a jump on it.

the info i can pull myself, sure. i was just thinking product related info, like dvds of movies they starred in with a facet of who the celebrity worked with (because not all celebs are in the api)
guess i could do a lookup based on the info i do get from imdb so long. just way more convenient to get it from prosperent since they basically just GIVE money away with the quality data and tools they have already

Oh yeah, as far as the dvd info, we work with dozens of large dvd retailers (best buy, walmart, even itunes), so that's not an issue. No need for Amazon to compete there.
We just need a source for the data, and i'm sure IMDB could be used to gather it. I initially thought you were interested in more of the celebrity info rather than the product info. We would really like to keep this centered around the products, and this makes sense to include in the api for sure.
